Cardiac catheterization
Cardiac catheterization is a procedure used to diagnose and treat heart conditions. This nonsurgical method can be used to determine if you have heart disease, check your heart muscle function or expand narrowed arteries to improve blood flow to the heart.

Heart cath lab services we offer
Heart catheterization procedures access your heart and blood vessels using thin tubes, known as catheters, as opposed to traditional surgery. Please arrive two and a half hours prior to the start of your test and check in at the admissions desk in the main lobby on the first floor. Please be sure to bring your driver’s license, insurance card(s) and copay to admissions.
Procedure details
The length of your procedure will vary depending on what your cardiologist has ordered. Most procedures take approximately two hours for preparation, two hours for the procedure and four hours for recovery. If a coronary stent or balloon is required during your procedure, you may need to stay overnight.
Ablation procedures can take four to five hours and require an overnight stay.
