Sarah Cannon Cancer Pavilion delivers convenience of comprehensive rehab services
HCA HealthONE Swedish oncology rehab supports patients before, during and after treatment.
Rehab is a crucial component to a patient’s health journey, one that is often overlooked. At the Sarah Cannon Cancer Pavilion at HCA HealthONE Swedish, we make rehabilitation a main pillar of our comprehensive oncology care. We have our own rehab practice in the Denver Tech Center that will transition to the Pavilion in 2024 to ensure patients, therapists, doctors and other members of the care team can all benefit from being in close proximity.
Our rehab team offers a full complement of physical, occupational and speech therapy services to assist patients in their care journey before, during and after cancer treatment or cancer-related surgeries.
Like our coordinated oncology treatment, rehabilitation at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Pavilion addresses the patient as a whole, not separate areas or systems that need attention. Our experts can fully customize your one-on-one rehab plan to address:
- Fatigue
- Energy conservation
- Fall prevention
- Improving balance
- Walking and stair safety
- Overcoming weakness
- Numbness
- Joint pain
- Improving memory and thinking
- Incontinence
Rehab can also help improve the body’s response to oncology treatments, for example: speeding up recovery from surgery and preparing a patient for the chemotherapy or radiation therapy that sometimes follows. Physicians coordinate closely with therapists to ensure patients are prepared and maximizing the effectiveness of the treatment plan. In the treatment of some cancers, even “prehab” may be prescribed to help get the patient ready for surgery and beyond.
Individualized oncology rehabilitation plans can have many goals but the compassionate, collaborative team at Sarah Cannon Cancer Pavilion aims for all patients to minimize pain, maximize mobility and reach for an optimal quality of life.
