HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children's at Presbyterian St. Luke's Earns Level One Children's Surgery Center Designation

Surgery on infants and small children requires the type of specialized expertise found at HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children's at Presbyterian St. Luke's. In August, the American College of Surgeons Children’s Surgery Verification Quality Improvement Program (ACS CSV) recognized this expertise by designating Rocky Mountain Children's at Presbyterian St. Luke's as a Level 1 Children’s Surgery Center.

Rocky Mountain Children's at Presbyterian St. Luke's joins a select group of fewer than 50 children’s hospitals nationwide to receive this designation. It’s the first children’s hospital in the global HCA Healthcare organization to achieve this status.

The ACS CSV program ensures that pediatric surgical patients receive care from a multidisciplinary program that has quality improvement and safety processes, data collection and appropriate resources in place. These components help to improve surgical quality, prevent complications, reduce costs and save lives.

To achieve verification as a Level 1 Children’s Surgery Center, Rocky Mountain Children's at Presbyterian St. Luke's met essential criteria for staffing, training, facility infrastructure and care protocols. The hospital also participates in a national data registry designed to identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement.
