HCA HealthONE Aurora announced today it has achieved numerous distinctions for exceptional neurosciences and stroke care from Healthgrades, the #1 site Americans use when searching for a doctor or hospital. HCA HealthONE Aurora received the Cranial Neurosurgery Excellence Award and was named among the top 5% in the nation for cranial neurosurgery. It also received the Stroke Care Excellence Award and was named #1 in Colorado for Neurosciences and Stroke Care.

In addition to these national honors, HCA HealthONE Aurora received numerous Five-Star Ratings for cardiac care, including Coronary Interventional Procedures, Treatment of Heart Attack, Treatment of Heart Failure, Defibrillator Procedures, and Pacemaker Procedures. These achievements affirm HCA HealthONE Aurora’s status as a premier destination for cardiology care and underscore the organization’s longstanding commitment to elevating patient care in Metro Denver.

“These awards are a testament to the extraordinary dedication and expertise of our physicians, nurses, and clinical teams. Their relentless commitment to excellence ensures that every patient receives the highest standard of care,” said Scott Rausch, chief executive officer for HCA HealthONE Aurora. “We are proud to lead the way in advancing cardiology and stroke treatment not only for Aurora, but for patients across Colorado who trust us with their care.”

HCA HealthONE Aurora’s achievements are based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes. Each year, Healthgrades evaluates risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. This identifies top hospitals in key specialty areas, including cardiac care. Using objective measures of performance, Healthgrades empowers patients with information to find a hospital that excels in their procedure or condition.

As performance gaps persist between the highest- and lowest-achieving facilities, seeking care at a top program is critical. Healthgrades’ 2026 analysis revealed that if all hospitals performed similarly to five-star hospitals (2022-2024), an estimated 230,466 lives could have been saved and 156,797 complications avoided.*

“Healthgrades’ specialty awards identify the nation’s top-performing hospitals in key service areas, helping consumers find high quality care tailored to their needs,” said Alana Biggers, MD, MPH, medical advisor at Healthgrades. “We’re proud to recognize HCA HealthONE Swedish for its consistently superior outcomes, including cardiac care.”
