Fort Collins dad runs first marathon to honor daughters, support NICU families

He turned to running in one of the hardest chapters of parenthood. Today, he runs to help other families in the NICU.

In 2022, Arp’s wife Sara was expecting twins. But their first daughter, Nora, was born only about halfway through the pregnancy at 22 weeks, and died shortly after. The second twin, another little girl name Rylee, was born two weeks later at 24 weeks, weighing just 1 pound, 7 ounces. Riley spent 125 days in the neonatal intensive care unit at HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children's in Denver.
