About our heart and vascular program

Our hospital's state-of-the-art cardiac care program encompasses the entire continuum of care for your heart problems.

Diagnosis and treatment with cardiac catheterization

Cardiac catheterization is a minimally invasive diagnostic procedure to study how well your heart is working. It involves passing a catheter (a thin, flexible tube) through your blood vessels to reach and examine your heart. We use this procedure to enable our cardiologists to diagnose (and sometimes treat) structural heart problems or cardiovascular diseases. This allows us to develop the best course of treatment for your unique needs.

Some cardiac catheterization diagnostic and interventional procedures we perform include:

  • 3D echocardiogram
  • Cardioversion
  • Heart biopsy
  • Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD)
  • Intravascular ultrasound
  • Pacemaker
  • Pericardiocentesis
  • Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE)
  • Stents
  • Tilt table

Specialized cardiac services

Our cardiology program includes community outreach and education, a cardiac alert program with our first responders in the field and a Level III Trauma Center and emergency room (ER).

Services our cardiologists offer that contribute to our high-quality results include:

  • Heart screening and imaging
  • Supervised heart failure programs
  • Vascular surgery

Emergency cardiac care

In a cardiac emergency, such as a heart attack, early diagnosis, quick response and expert care are vital to ensure the best outcome. We work hard to maintain our American College of Cardiology (ACC) accreditation as a chest pain center, which acknowledges that we offer a higher level of expertise in treating you if you arrive with symptoms of a heart attack. Our hard work has lead to our hospital receiving ACC's Platinum Performance Achievement Award for heart attack care.

Vascular treatment center and program

Our vascular surgeons are experienced in treating the full spectrum of vascular diseases and disorders. This includes everything from peripheral artery disease (PAD) to aortic aneurysms.

Our vascular program includes:

  • 24/7 vascular surgeon coverage
  • Advanced surgical procedures, such as peripheral vascular occlusion, peripheral vascular bypass and arterial access
  • Interventional technology for enhanced capacity to rapidly treat major trauma and hemorrhage
  • Minimally invasive techniques for major vascular conditions

Hybrid OR suite

Our hybrid OR suite enables our vascular surgeons and care team to perform more complex vascular surgeries. We are proud to be the only hospital in the area offering this level of care. By offering multispecialty technology, such as minimally invasive vascular procedures, alongside advanced imaging technology, this OR allows different procedures to happen all in one place.

Minimally invasive surgery for vascular disease

Our vascular surgeons perform minimally invasive surgery whenever possible. This type of surgery requires smaller incisions and instruments, which results in less scarring, reduced pain and, ultimately, a faster recovery.
