A Legacy of Service: Join the Volunteers of HCA HealthONE Rose

For more than 70 years, volunteers have been at the heart of HCA HealthONE Rose, shaping the compassionate care we provide and strengthening our deep roots in the Denver community.

Our hospital has a long and esteemed history as a Denver institution. Founded on Jewish teachings, traditions, and a commitment to community, our mission has always been to “serve the need of every creed.” From the very beginning, volunteers have played a vital role in fulfilling that mission.

From the Gray Ladies to Today

Our volunteer program began with the original “Gray Ladies,” a dedicated group who rolled bandages and provided comfort to patients. Their spirit of service laid the foundation for what has become a vibrant and diverse volunteer program. Today, our volunteers continue that legacy—offering their time, talents, and compassion in countless ways throughout the hospital.

    • Faces of Rose Program

Be the first smile someone sees when they walk through our doors. The Faces of Rose program is all about creating a warm, welcoming environment for everyone who enters our hospital. Volunteers in this program:

      • Greet patients, families, and visitors at the front entrance
      • Escort guests to their destinations within the hospital
      • Assist with other hospitality-related tasks as needed

We’re looking for friendly, approachable individuals who are comfortable walking throughout the hospital and who embrace people of all backgrounds with kindness and respect. If you enjoy connecting with others and making people feel at ease, this is the perfect role for you.

    • No One Dies Alone Program

In life’s final moments, no one should be alone. Our No One Dies Alone program offers trained volunteers the opportunity to provide a comforting presence at the bedside of patients who have no family or friends nearby. Volunteers in this program offer quiet companionship, dignity, and peace to those nearing the end of life-ensuring that every patient is seen, valued, and cared for.

This deeply meaningful role is ideal for compassionate individuals who feel called to provide comfort during life's most vulnerable moments.

    • Teen Summer Volunteer Program

Looking for a meaningful way to spend your summer? Our Teen Summer Volunteer Program is a unique opportunity for students ages 14 and up to make a real difference in the lives of others—while gaining valuable experience in a hospital setting.
